for Final Game on Green Schedule
Kirchmyermen Set
For Sixth Win
Of Season
This afternoon, at Thompson's
Stadium, Stapleton, the Green Wave
o f Wagner meets an inspired team
from American International. The
American International .aggregation
hails from Springfield, Massachusetts,
where it has set up a commendable
record for itself.
Last week, the New England team
defeated Panzer College by a score
of 21-0, while Wagner was handing
Brooklyn .a 13-0 defeat.
This game today promises t o be
one o f the toughest on the Wagner
schedule, but the Green Wave will
not be handicapped by injuries.
These facts should bolster the team
t o the peak o f efficiency.
Wagner still has some plays that
have not been employed so far this
seeson, but- will pcnhnbly. Jmssn
with them today. W,agner will be
trying for its sixth win o f the season.
The game promises t o be packed
with thrills from beginning t o end.
The type o f attack that the two
teams will use remains a secret, and
will aprobably remain as such until this
afternoon, when they pair off.

STRETCHER GIVEN ALPHA KAPPA PI
BY ALUMNI GROUP FORMAL TONIGHT
Certain people noticed, during the
football games, that the injured
pl.ayers have been carried off the
field in such a manner as t o make
any slight injury serious.
Among these people were members o f the Wagner Alumni Association.
As reported by Instructor
Bruce Carney, the Association bought
a stretcher t o be used a t all future
football games. The money for the
stretcher was taken from the proceeds o f the Alumni Dance.
The brothers o f Alpha Kappa Pi
will entertain their guests tonight a t
a formal dance a t the Suburban
Country Club, in Union, New Jersey.
Leonard Klemann, chairman o f the
affair, announces that it is t o be a
grand affair. The music will be furnished by Carl Madison and his orchestra. The vocalist for the evening
is t o be Marion Johnson. There is
still time t o g e t your bid from the
committee and t o spend the evening
a t the Country Club, celebrating the
close o f a grand football season.
PROFESSOR C O O L I D G E CONCLUDES STAY ON
CAMPUS; KNABE GRAND P I A N O PURCHASED
At a special chapel service held
this morning, Professor Arlan Coolidge's visit t o the Wagner Campus was brought t o an end. For the
past three days Mr. Coolidge has
lived with Doctor Haag and has
thrilled the students with his selections on the violin on many different
ly .
I
occasions. O n Thursday rnornir- I'W
a
el on
gave an informal talk in chap
the field o f music and in the evening
:
attended a meeting o f the music club
where h , listened t o 'prospective
e
members perform and then played
himself.
O n Friday, he, with the help o f
Mr. Boardman a t the piano, gave an
informal concert which was highly appreciated by the students.
In the
evening he appeared in a formal
concert, a t which time a large number o f Staten Islanders turned out
and were greeted personally by Mr.
Coolidge a t a reception given by
President and Mrs. Stoughton in the
Cunard building.
This morning in chapel Mr. Coolidge again played for the students
and a t this time played a number o f
request numbers for his audience.
Dr. Haag was in charge o f MrS
Coolidge's visit and during his st.ay
Dr. Haag arranged ample opportunities for those students who were
interested in music, t o have personal
interviews with him.
NEW BABY GRAND PIANO
ACQUIRED FOR CHAPEL
The school is quite fortunate in
being able t o purchase a new Knabe
Baby Grand piano for the auditorium.
Doctor Haag, last Monday,
arranged for the piano t o be de-
livered at the school on Tuesday,
November 12.
Money for the piano came from
two sources; the very successful
Fashion Show given by the Girls'
League last year, and the Choir
Concert presented a t McKee Vocational High School on Staten Island.
W e give a word o f thanks t o all
those who helped in making this 'possible.
Any goal, no matter how great or
how small, can be reached with cooperation and work. The acquisition
of this piano has proven the rule.

The Wagner campus has lost one

Hint:
Doctor Hefelbower, that
person who cr.acks some o f those
funny jokes now and then is not
Howie Guhl, it's Bob Meyer. H o w
could you miss Bob's red hair? But
then, maybe the whole thing i s just
an illusion!
What's this we hear about Bill! It
just couldn't be that W. C. T. U.

total abstainers ranks.

According t o mythology there are
nine Muses, but some "genius"
named two more in a recent English
test given by the dean. They are,
o f all things, Venus and Polyglot.
That's ingenuity plus!
Professor Herbert R. Childs has
left Wagner t o return t o his Alma
Mater, the University o f Rochester,
where he will teach .and complete
the work for his doctorate.
Mispronunciation: During a recent
Philosophy roll call, the instructor
said quite innocently, Meekinson.
Well, anyone that knows Heinz will
agree that there's nothing meek
about his conversation, for he can
bend a person's ear indefinitely!!
During his stay a t Wagner, Professor Childs was active in the work
o f the Music Club.
Some say you can't make a footbawl, but it comes mighty close t o
that when your dogs bark.
The Childs' home on the campus
displayed the typical Wagner spirit;
it was always open t o Wagner
students. Professor Childs' knack for
teaching and helping students was
equaled only by the graciousness o f
his wife.
They're having some sort o f
Thanksgiving in Europe today. They're
cooking Turkey in Greece.
Have a pleasant Thanksgiving
vacation! Everybody!!
A few very close friends who were
with him when he left the Wagner
campus t o travel upstate, felt that
he knew he was leaving scores o f associations he had cultivated during
the last five years.
The University o f Rochester will be
"home" t o Professor Childs, and we
hope with him .and pray t o G o d that
he may h.ave a successful professorship in that institution.
W e feel that the University o f
Rochester will surely appreciate his
character,
personality, and ability;
the things that Wagner students will
miss most through the coming years.

other squad members who will get

BUY YOUR DRUGS A T
There are two new faces that you
will probably see plenty o f on the
Wagner court this year. Snee and
Widner are doing remarkably well in
learning the "Sutter System" and in
handling the sphere. - Five or six of
last year's varsity will be out there
again sinking them with greater accuracy than Wagner has seen in
some time.
The Wagner Alumni still have a
great interest in their Alma Mater!!
This has been shown by some o f
Wagner's ex-fencers who have returned t o the hill t o have practice
meets with both the men's and
women's varsity teams.
